Senior Companion, Family Check-Ins & Home Watch in Highland Beach, FL

The best emergency
is the one your Highland Beach
family never has to face.

Along the quiet stretch of A1A between Boca Raton and Delray Beach, Cornerstone brings family check-in visits, Home Companion and Property Watch to Highland Beach families. Founded by a career firefighter-paramedic.

Firefighter-Owned·By Introduction·Palm Beach County

Highland Beach is a small, quiet oceanfront town between Boca Raton and Delray Beach, made up largely of oceanfront condominiums and estate homes. Many residents are retirees, many homes sit empty for part of the year, and every one of them faces storm season on the barrier island — which means many families are managing an aging parent, or a seasonal home, from somewhere else.

Cornerstone's visits are built around that reality: attentive in-home check-ins and safety walkthroughs for the people you love, and dependable Property Watch for the home itself, with clear, documented reports after every visit so nothing is left to guesswork.

Whether you're down the street or a thousand miles away.

If you're close by

If you live out of state

After every visit you get a written note, with photos for Property Watch, and one person in Highland Beach who knows your parent and the home by name. Calls and video updates are set around your schedule and your time zone.

The Cornerstone Standard

What makes Cornerstone different.

The same standard behind every membership, every companion visit and every Property Watch report.

A firefighter's eye

Fifteen years in fire and EMS service, applied to your loved one's home: smoke detectors, electrical and heating hazards, escape routes, and the trip hazards behind most falls.

One point of contact

A direct line to your advisor, who knows your household by name. Never a call center, never a rotating cast of strangers.

Documented, every visit

A written, photo-documented report after every visit, in English or Spanish, so your family always knows what was seen and what's next.

Screened to our standard

Everyone who enters a client's home clears Florida's Level 2 background screening and the full Cornerstone Screening Standard first.

Discretion as standard

A signed confidentiality agreement from day one. No signage, no marked vehicles, just the polish of seasoned household staff.

Vetted, licensed partners

When your family needs more, we recommend licensed agencies and vendors we've vetted ourselves. Never a paid placement.

Membership

A private practice, not a call center.

Every Highland Beach engagement begins with the Initial Cornerstone Home Review, followed by a membership tier built around your family's needs.

Required First Step

The Initial Cornerstone Home Review

A 90-minute, in-home walkthrough covering fire safety, fall hazards and escape routes in the home — followed by a written report with prioritized recommendations. $500, one-time per residence. Credited in full toward your first month, should you enroll.

Families in Florida pay more than $6,000 a month for in-home help, and over $23,000 a month for around-the-clock care.

Too often, they still walk in to find the TV running, lunch untouched, and the person they're paying on a phone in the next room. We've seen that neglect firsthand, and Cornerstone was built because we refuse to accept it.

Every Cornerstone companion is screened to our standard, matched to your family, and accountable to a written report after every visit. Presence, punctuality and pride in the work aren't extras here. They're the job.

Not a shift filled. A standard kept.

The Right-Fit Promise: if your Initial Home Review doesn't feel like the right fit, tell us within 48 hours and we'll refund it in full — no questions asked.

Full membership pricing — Essential, Signature, and Premier — plus Property Watch details, are on our Membership page.

Common Questions

Highland Beach Families Ask

Does Cornerstone serve oceanfront condominiums in Highland Beach?

Yes. Cornerstone serves families throughout Highland Beach, from oceanfront condominium buildings to single-family homes along A1A, and coordinates with building management and front desks when visiting condo residents.

Is this a medical service?

No. Cornerstone is a non-medical companion and safety service, with our AHCA registration application submitted and pending approval. We spot hazards and keep your family informed, but we don't provide hands-on personal or medical care. Anything health-related stays with your loved one's own doctors; we keep your family informed.

How much does this cost?

Memberships begin at $1,500/month, with your exact investment tailored to your family and revealed during a free initial conversation. Every engagement starts with a $500 Initial Cornerstone Home Review, and everything is documented in a signed service agreement — no hidden fees.

Is there a long-term contract?

No. Cornerstone memberships are month-to-month, with 30 days' written notice to cancel — no cancellation fees, no penalties, no fine print.

I live out of state. How will I know how my parent in Highland Beach is doing?

After every visit you receive a written note covering what we did and anything you should know, such as a change in routine or a hazard in the home. You have one point of contact in Highland Beach who knows your parent by name, and we can set regular calls or video updates around your schedule. We don't evaluate health; if something seems different, we tell you so your family can follow up.

Do you offer home watch in Highland Beach?

Yes. Cornerstone Property Watch is our home watch service for seasonal and second homes in Highland Beach: scheduled walkthroughs checking for leaks, A/C and humidity problems, storm damage, and doors, windows, locks and alarm, with a photo report after every visit. Property Watch begins at $850/month and is available without a membership. It is an inspection and reporting service, not a security service.

Can someone take my parent to appointments in Highland Beach?

Yes. A Home Companion can accompany your parent to appointments and errands anywhere in Palm Beach County, and members can use our Appointment and Homecoming Escort for the ride home after a hospital stay. Transportation is non-medical and non-emergency; in an emergency we call 911.
